Sightseeing
The Manistee River Trail begins 1.5 miles down the road at Seaton Creek Campground. My favorite time to hike this trail is in the spring and fall. Spectacular views and you will even see a small water fall during the hike. The Manistee River trail is roughly 10-11 miles long.

I have two kayaks in the garage. Hodenpyl Dam is a great place to kayak. You can access the dam by Burton's landing. Basically you turn right out of my drive way. Take another right and take this road til it ends. Turn left until you get to a trailer home with a fading sign that says Burtons landing. You can pay $5 to put your kayak in at the end of the drive down the hill. Must wear life jackets when using the kayaks.

I would guess Sleeping Bear Dunes is roughly a hour away. It is breathtaking.

Beulah is just about 45 minutes away. It has a great little beach on Crystal Lake. The quaint town has cute shops, great food and a brewery!

This is by far one of my favorite north Michigan towns. Awesome beach, coffee shop, food scene and is home to Storm Cloud Brewing company.
