Lovely cathedral with a great restaurant. Look at the tower tour - this gets you into the cathedral as well up to parts not usually seen. We have actually done the tour and its brilliant - well worth the money!

Our favourite Walks
2 - 2.5 Hour Walk
Start your walk by parking near Burgate school in Fordingbridge. Cross over road to Burgate Farm and here your walk starts.
Follow the paths over the swinging bridge and across the meadows. Lovely views around here. Once you get to the end by Earlcote (farm, Stables etc) you will reach a road. Turn left and follow the road to Woodgreen. On your way you will get to Godshill viewpoint. Amazing views down to River Avon. Benches here stop and enjoy the view.
Carry on walking along road turn left at the end of the road and this takes you to village of Woodgreen. Once into the village near Horse and Groom pub (good for a spot of lunch) turn right for the shop (past village hall) or left to return to Fordingbridge.
For Fordingbridge follow road having turned left and walk until mill on the right. Carry on over bridge following road and take path under large bridge to the left. Here you will get to the old railway line Breamore. Turn left and follow path back to Fordingbridge. At end of path cross over road and turn left back to Burgate, Fordingbridge.
This walk takes about 2 to 2.5 hours but is beautiful with lovely views and a pub stop on the way

Neighbourhoods
Beautiful village to go for a walk. Walk through the gates in the picture and follow the road eventually round to the right and keep going until you reach the farm and houses at the end on the left. Here turn right and follow the footpaths across the fields. Eventually you will see a footpath on the right again leading back across the field towards the village. You will cross over a bridge at the back of some houses and back out onto the village. Turn right again and walk up through the village - this will bring you back to the start.

Witchampton Ml, New Town, Wimborne BH21 영국
Beautiful village to go for a walk. Walk through the gates in the picture and follow the road eventually round to the right and keep going until you reach the farm and houses at the end on the left. Here turn right and follow the footpaths across the fields. Eventually you will see a footpath on the right again leading back across the field towards the village. You will cross over a bridge at the back of some houses and back out onto the village. Turn right again and walk up through the village - this will bring you back to the start.

Consider buying a Historic Houses Pass for the year - lots of properties fairly local and a great choice throughout the whole of the UK.
Local properties part of this scheme are Breamore House, Wilton House, Highcliffe Castle, Deans Court, Lulworth Castle, Heale House Gardens, Iford Manor Gardens, Arundells (Salisbury), Minterne House and Gardens, Sherborne Castle, Athlehampton House and Gardens to name but a few. We think its good value - you can add additional members reasonably to a joint membership.

Dont drive into the park - it is so expensive for the day - but park on the outskirts and walk in. Takes about 20 to 40 minutes depending where you park. Ask for details and we can direct you to the free parking places!

Imber bus and open days - well worth a visit
The village of Imber was evacuated in 1943 and is still deserted to this day. It was evacuated in November to aid the training of American soldiers for the D-Days landing.
Full details of dates when there is access to Imber and when St Giles Church is open to visitors is kept up to date on the St Giles Church web site
