The Grasshopper Pub here is a great place to eat. Large menu and lovely view from their outside deck to enjoy when it's warm. The dining room area is separate from the Pub and is usually quieter. They have a well stocked Liquor Store which is convenient for picking up wine and cold beer for later.

This a great place to go for ice cream cones and gift items. They also sell beer and wine and some groceries. The cafe has been closed lately, but they do have some take out food. Boaters can get fuel at their dock. And they sell propane. We love sitting on their lawn, enjoying an ice cream and the spectacular water views. Great place to take sunset photos too.

4907 Pool RdThis a great place to go for ice cream cones and gift items. They also sell beer and wine and some groceries. The cafe has been closed lately, but they do have some take out food. Boaters can get fuel at their dock. And they sell propane. We love sitting on their lawn, enjoying an ice cream and the spectacular water views. Great place to take sunset photos too.

Places to eat out close early in Madeira Park, especially in winter! Go early!
Go out to eat early in the evening. The locals here work really, really hard in tourist season and some places close in winter or have shorter hours to give them a rest. It is also hard to get staff in small villages. So it's a good idea to check that the place you are planning to eat at is open in the off seasons. And in the peak of summer, don't wait until the last minute to go out to eat. If places are too busy, they might close early. Last call for food at Mama's Japanese is 7.30 pm. Grasshopper Pub takes orders till 8.30 or 9 pm, but I have been there when the kitchen closed earlier in the winter. Harbour Pizza closes at 8 pm - so don't try running in minutes before closing time - go early! The Mexican place at the entrance to the village is open until 9 pm and well worth a visit - they are a new, friendly, family run and have good food.

Bring a bathing suit! Lots of great lakes for swimming.
Also useful for hot tubs. And bring good "water shoes" for rocky ocean shores - helpful for kayaking too. There is great kayaking in protected Pender Harbour, perfect for first timers and beginners. Several places to rent kayaks.
