Middleham Falls are absolutely worth a visit. The trail to the falls starts on the road to Laudat, about 5 km away from Cocoa Cottage. It is about a 1 hour hike to the falls (medium difficulty). The path leads through a lush jungle with gorgeous views. At the falls, you can take a bath in the pools at the bottom of the falls, Be careful when you climb down to the pools from the wooden platform, it is a little difficult to make the first step down.

Middleham Falls Dominica
6 DominicaMiddleham Falls are absolutely worth a visit. The trail to the falls starts on the road to Laudat, about 5 km away from Cocoa Cottage. It is about a 1 hour hike to the falls (medium difficulty). The path leads through a lush jungle with gorgeous views. At the falls, you can take a bath in the pools at the bottom of the falls, Be careful when you climb down to the pools from the wooden platform, it is a little difficult to make the first step down.
Boeri Lake is just gorgeous! It is situated in the caldera of an old volcano, in the middle of the Trois Pitons National Park. The trail head to Boeri lake starts in about 8 km distance from Cocoa Cottage. Go up to Laudat and to Freshwater Lake, pass by Freshwater lake until you reach the end of the road. There the hike starts. It is about a 1 hour hike (medium difficulty) to Boeri Lake, through a lush, low growth jungle. The path can be slippery when it is raining, so watch your step. Boeri Lake is just amazing: quiet, in a gorgeous setting, fresh, good for swimming and relaxing on the deck.

Boeri Lake is just gorgeous! It is situated in the caldera of an old volcano, in the middle of the Trois Pitons National Park. The trail head to Boeri lake starts in about 8 km distance from Cocoa Cottage. Go up to Laudat and to Freshwater Lake, pass by Freshwater lake until you reach the end of the road. It is a very difficult hike (very extreme, you have to be in good shape in order to enjoy it). The hike takes 3 hours to the lake and 3 hours back. Boiling Lake
This is one of the hikes you will never forget. You have to see it. The trail head starts at about 7 km distance from Cocoa Cottage, behind Titou Gorge in Laudat. It is a very difficult hike (very extreme, you have to be in good shape in order to enjoy it). The hike takes 3 hours to the lake and 3 hours back. Bubble Beach is perfect for chilling out, for sitting in a hot spa on the beach and watching the sunset, and for snorkeling.
The beach has some natural hot spring that runs into the ocean on the beach. A simple wall catches the hot water and forms a pool where the spring water mixes with sea water. Absolutely relaxing!
The beach has a bar, and they also rent some snorkeling equipment.
And there is great snorkeling out at the reef. You need to swim a bit, the nice area starts at the cylindrical buoy. There is also a nice
steep underwater wall with great fish, coral and sponges.

This peninsula offers gorgeous views of the south of Dominica.
And it is also a prime spot for snorkeling. There is a steep wall with lots of black coral, right at the tip of Scotts Head. Be careful when you swim out, the water can be rough, especially where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean Sea. You can get into the water at a small beach on the Caribbean side. You can reach it by car when you drive towards the peninsula, it is on your right. You need to be a good swimmer, and ideally you should bring fins. The interesting area for snorkeling is about 15 minutes swim from the beach. Watch for currents!

Scotts Head
This peninsula offers gorgeous views of the south of Dominica.
And it is also a prime spot for snorkeling. There is a steep wall with lots of black coral, right at the tip of Scotts Head. Be careful when you swim out, the water can be rough, especially where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean Sea. You can get into the water at a small beach on the Caribbean side. You can reach it by car when you drive towards the peninsula, it is on your right. You need to be a good swimmer, and ideally you should bring fins. The interesting area for snorkeling is about 15 minutes swim from the beach. Watch for currents!

You can use buses, taxis or hitch hike.
Jump on a bus at a bus stop. And tell the driver where you want to hop off.
From the Ferry to Cocoa Cottage it is best to get a taxi at the ferry.
Drop-off at the ferry can be arranged at Cocoa Cottage. Drop-off at the ferry typical costs about 30 US$ for 2 persons, or 10 US$ / person for more than two. Prices can vary somewhat.
Pickup or drop-off from/at Melville Hall Airport (DOM) typically costs about 100 US$, no matter how many persons (up to five).
It is Ok to hitch hike. Everybody does it and it works very well.
