The St. Peters church is one of the best places to see the city from the top. It is how ever the most expensive experience for 8.00 EUR per person.

The "Skyline" bar located on the upper floor of a hotel is the one of my favorite places to go on a date night :)
The view in the evening and at night is stunning with the all the city lights etc.
This is the most recommended place to go and see the city from the top and have some drinks as well because the prices are adequate, they are a bit steeper if you compare to cheapest bars in town, but the view is worth it :)

Parks & Nature
On the way to city center in the middle of a bridge, there is an island with nice park suitable for walking and many other activities. In the park is really good children's playground and beach volleyball courts. Also there is a city beach where you can swim during the hot days and also cable wake board for the brave ones!

Mežparks is the largest green leisure zone in the city offering endless walks, rollerskating and skateboarding tracks, the beach where to swim or feed the ducks and swans. There is many caffe's as well.

This is a great place to work with your laptop and enjoy the view in the same time. Of course you can just grab a book and read it in the reading area.
There is available a guided tour for the groups starting just from 2 people!! The cost is 2 Eur per person and it is totally worth it!!

Getting Around
The nearest stop for public transport is located right around the corner. To and from the city center you can use Bus No-40 and Trolleybus No-19. The city center is 6/7 stops from here.
