Neighborhoods
It used to be a poor area centered around factories, mostly workers lived there, it was not an attractive city quarter a few decades back. Now it is a trendy neighbourhood with the best coffee shops, eating places, breweries and design/clothing shops. It is also covered in street art. I'm sure it has a lot to offer to any traveller.

A relatively new city area, built on dried land. The architecture is quite modern and interesting. I definitely recommnd to wander around there

Food court with a variety of cusines offered. Amazing place to chill on a sunny day as it is located by the Oslo fjord.

A low key restaurant where you can taste exotic meat ( seal, whale etc). Don't mix with Lofoten restaurant by the harbour. The latter has never impressed me neither with their cuisine nor the service.
Lofotstua staff is very friendly and the food is great ( at least the last time I was there). You probably need to make a reservation.

Cool place for those who is into this kind of stuff, will give you some spin on Norwegian history but it is by no means an equal to the Natural history museum in London.

A nice lake to go on a mini-hike, for grilling sausages or playing volleyball in the summer.

The most famous cultural park in Oslo and in Norway, it is peppered with sculptures which do not look like your classical Italian ones, they are something else.

Museum of the great painter, Emanuel Vigeland, the least known brother of Gustav Vigeland fully covered with the detailed painting. The room is very dark to preserve colours, this brings on an amazing effect- you start seeing more and more details as your eyes get used to the darkness.
Quite an unusual and cool place to visit.

If you are into a very very contemporary theater/dance performances, this is the place for you. The tickets are rather cheap, they can be sold out for some performances.

A tiny cafeteria by the waterfall, it is nice to have a cup of coffee and enjoy the view. Do not expect a great food or drinks, they will be just a decent, nothing special. This would be the place locals would stop by to relax and let babies sleep while moms catch-up on latest topics or something :)
