Sightseeing in the area
There are two lovely quaint towns to visit only a short drive away for shopping, patios, dining and site seeing that I highly recommend when visiting the area, also be sure to go for a hike at Foley Mountain Conservation Area on your way into Westport or a walk about Stewart Park when visiting the Town of Perth.

The Town of Perth is beautiful, have a bite to eat on the patio right on the canal at Mex&Co. or visit Cooutts Coffee across the canal. Lovely little shops and a number of places to dine.

Westport is a lovely scenic little village located on Upper Rideau Lake only a ten minute drive away. Be sure to visit the Scheuermann winery for wood fired pizza, the Cove Inn patio or the Westport Brewery overlooking the harbour. Little shops and a nice coffee shop and a great ice cream shop.

I have not been here yet as it just opened this year but I am hearing great things about the place and can’t wait to check it out.

The Opinicon Lodge is an historic beautifully restored lodge in the hamlet of Chaffey’s Locks on the Rideau Canal. It is about a forty minute drive away. Be sure to visit the ice cream shop and walk about the village by the locks.
