Skip the queues and book those museums ahead of time on their respective websites.

If you can bike, BIKE!
It really saves a lot of hassle, money and time and brings a lot of joy if you experience Amsterdam the local way: by bike! There are plenty of bike rental shops in Jordaan area that I could recommend but the closest by is Bike City at Bloemgracht.
