For a taste of everything Philly, check out the Reading Terminal Market. It's an indoor farmer's market style place with so much food to choose from. It can be a little overwhelming at first but find a cheesesteak, have a seat, and enjoy some people watching. There's also some amazing canolis here!

It can be a little overwhelming at first but find a cheesesteak, have a seat, and enjoy some people watching. There's also some amazing canolis here!
If you're looking for some great pastries, this is the place to go. They provide a ton of gluten free options, too! My go-to is a regular coffee and a chocolate chip muffin. I love this place for the relaxed vibe - mismatched chairs, cozy seating, and a friendly staff.

This place is a hidden gem. Five courses of Moroccan food for a reasonable price in a restaurant that feels like it's straight out of Morocco. Make a reservation on the weekends if you can, although sometimes you can get in right away. It's hard to find and you have to ring the doorbell, but don't let that intimidate you...it only adds to the experience! Plus this place is BYOB, so grab a bottle of wine and save yourself from spending all that money on cocktails.

During the summer months, this place an amazing pop-up beer garden right on the waterfront. They put out hammocks and tons of food trucks show up. It does get crowded, but it's a fun way to check out the Philly culture!

Great beer and not bad prices. This place just opened recently and I'm impressed with them. Indoor and outdoor seating and, although they don't sell food, they've partnered with the restaurant next door and they'll bring food to you! This is the birthplace of our country! You can't come to the Philadelphia area and not come here. Walk around the area to see the Liberty Bell (free!), old City Hall, George Washington's house, and a ton of other historic sites.

This is always a fun walk, especially at night. And (bonus!) if you walk east (so the streets go down in number) you'll end up at the waterfront where you can walk to the Spruce Street Harbor Park!

We have a ton of beaches in Jersey, but this one is my favorite. The beaches are clean and the boardwalk is full of fun shops and food.

Yes, you should go see the museum (pay-as-you-wish Wednesdays 5:00-8:45 and first Sundays of each month), but it's the steps that are iconic. Run up the steps like Rocky Balboa, or watch other people if that's more your speed. Plus, take a picture with his statue at the bottom of the steps. Yeah, it's quirky, but it's Philly and we're proud!

Different every time you go, Longwood Gardens is a must for anyone who loves nature, plants, flowers, or fountains. You can easily spend an entire day here, but it's worth every minute. And around the holidays, the light shows are stunning!

This park has over 50 trails, all beautiful and serene. It's a beautiful area in the city that feels like a totally different place as you're surrounded by nature. Most of these hikes are great for any level hiker.
