Lunch

The Teahouse is a lovely place for lunch - great sandwiches, salads, soups, quiche and more. One of our favorite spots.

Not only is this great Mexican food but we love the owners and people who work here. Try their popsicles too!

We really enjoy getting our “Peruvian Food Fix” here. Try some little empanadas ... or their special drink made from blue corn. Tasty! Two sisters own and run this place and it’s located inside the DeVargas Mall on Paseo de la Peralta (where Sprout’s and Market Street grocery stores are both located). Additionally they sell some pretty textiles here straight from Peru. We haven’t tried their breakfasts yet but they’re next on our list!

Dinner on the “Upscale” side

For dinners a bit more on the more upscale side ...
Yum! And pretty atmosphere at this downtown Spanish Tapas restaurant. Hip and elegant.

Not only is this a lovely atmosphere located in the heart of Canyon Road, they serve some very tasty Spanish tapas, full entrees as well, a yummy sangria (along with full bar) ... but they also feature live music quite regularly (check website for schedule but generally, Thursday - Saturday) and Flamenco shows on Saturday night (for this you need to reserve a table for the show and buy tickets. I just took in a flamenco show in August 2019 and tickets were $30 each. Great way to celebrate and enjoy Santa Fe’s Flamenco side of life!

My Favorite Breakfasts

Bon Apetit! This Parisien Café is so so good. The warm scents of fresh baked croissants (and more), brewed cappuccinos, fresh juice will have you anxiously awaiting a seat at a table and a chance to peruse their extensive breakfast menu. Be prepared to have a wait though, especially if you go on one of their busier days. But if you love a scrumptious “real treat” breakfast, this is a must go!

So I’m quite fond of Tres Colores as you may have figured out because I’ve listed it in several categories here. It’s great mexican food, with a salsa and topping bar, fabulous owners and staff (good vibes here!) and a place we go to (A LOT) for casual breakfast, lunch or dinner. It’s almost embarrassing how often we pick up a carne asada burrito (no rice for me, please, and put my Chile sauce on the side. Mild!) I don’t know what would make them “special”, but the pinto beans inside my burrito, here, just seem better than anywhere else!!
