Zlarin is a small undiscovered jewel of our coast that is distinguished by its pristine nature and exceptionally rich historical and cultural heritage. Due to its geographical position, Zlarin has always held the strategic role of St. Ante Channel gatekeeper and the guardian of Šibenik.
This green island with total length of 8,19km2 will, as soon as you reach its port, dazzle you with its position protected from southern and northeast winds, making it attractive to a large number of sailors. You can feel the benefits of the sea and vegetation everywhere you go, and the stillness on the island is only broken by seagulls, peasants, woodpeckers or owls. It should be noted that there are 2700 sunlight hours per year, which makes the island one of the sunniest on the Adriatic coast. The highest peak of Zlarin is Klepac (169m) from where you can see the entire Zlarin sea surface and Šibenik channel, all the way to Velebit on one side and sometimes, all the way to the volcanic island of Jabuka on the other.
In the 15th ct. Zlarin was named golden island. Is that because the word zlarin comes from Latin “Insula auri“ meaning “island of gold,” or because of the crystal clear sea, idyllic nature, green pine forests, beaches, bays, and coves, or because of the peacefulness of the island? Maybe it is golden because of its rich historical and cultural heritage or a combination of golden sunset and the blue of the sea. We will never know the answer, but we are convinced that the sight, the range of colors, will forever stay with you.
Your experience of the place will be complemented by the tastes and smells of Dalmatian cuisine based on autochthonous recipes, a cuisine you can try in several local restaurants and taverns. And because of one other distinctiveness of Zlarin, you can have a taste of these original recipes in a complete peace and quiet, and that is the ban on cars on the entire island. Precisely due to this, to many people Zlarin has become a sanctuary away from city crowd and noise. A 25 minutes’ boat ride will take you back to your childhood and the days of playing on the streets, riding a bike, exploring and simply enjoying.

Together with the Family beach in front of the hotels, it will circle a story intended primarily for families with children, but also for everyone else with an adventurous spirit. Solaris AquaPark is a very rich attraction with unique design. It involves a wide variety of family and social activities, games and curiosities, adapted primarily to children of all ages and adults. Up to 6 different slides, of which some reach high up to 13,5 meters, jets and waterfalls with numerous water effects are just a part of the adventure that will make you completely overwhelmed. We took the youngest children into consideration and customized a part of the water magic for them. Muzej koralja na Zlarinu ili Koraljarski centar Zlarinka podsjetnik je na marljivost otočana u surovim životnim uvjetima i na čudesnu raskoš našeg podmorja. Povijest ronjenja i obrade koralja nas vodi sve do 13. stoljeća kada su Zlarinjani otkrili crveno bogatstvo oko svojeg otoka. U našem podmorju obitava pedesetak vrsta koralja, a najpoznatiji je ovaj zlarinski, crveni koralj iz roda Corallium rubrum. Koralji vole čisto more s jakim strujama koje nanose planktone kojima se hrane. Sve do 18. stoljeća je vladalo uvjerenje da je koralj cvijet koji se okameni kad se izvadi iz mora, tek tada su znanstvenici otkrili da se radi o životinji koja, u kolonijama, naseljava podvodne grebene i raste polako, ali sigurno, par milimetara godišnje. Spori rast je razlog zbog čega je uzgoj koralja neisplativ, ali i uzrok sve manjoj populaciji zbog čega je izlov sve manji, a vrijednost koralju raste. U Hrvatskoj, trenutno, dozvolu za lov koralja ima tek sedam osoba, a nitko nije Zlarinjanin. Pa ipak, Zlarin ima Muzej koralja i uskoro se ovdje planira otvoriti koraljarski centar - koralj je za Zlarin značio život i najvažniji je zlarinski izvozni proizvod oduvijek. Iako nema lovca na koralje, ima majstora obrade koralja pa se ovdje može svjedočiti vještini ručne obrade koralja i kupiti unikatan nakit. Muzej radi dvokratno pa se u ulicu Niz Bebana možete zaputiti nakon jutarnje kavice ili kad omara popusti ako ste unajmili apartman, sobu ili kuću za odmor na Zlarinu. Muzejski prostor je nevelik, ali kružno posložen kako bi vas vodičkinja provela kroz stoljeća koraljarske tradicije i kulture življenja na Zlarinu. Nekada davno, koralji su se množili na manjim dubinama, od oko 30 do 50 metara ispod površine, a Zlarinjani ih ronili na dah. Služili su se inženjem ili Andrijinim križom, čiji zanimljivi oblik i funkciju ćete odmah uočiti pri ulazu u Muzej. Osim crvenih, lovili su plave i bijele koralje, ali isti nisu dosegli vrijednost ovog prvog. Zanimljivo je da crveni koralj pobijeli na višim temperaturama, a da pri tome ne mijenja svoja svojstva ili oblik. Upravo zato se djeci kupuju koraljne narukvice kako bismo odmah mogli primijetiti ako dijete ima povišenu temperaturu. Od visokih temperatura ljetnih dana, sklonite se među kamene zidove Muzeja koralja.

16 Niz BebanaMuzej koralja na Zlarinu ili Koraljarski centar Zlarinka podsjetnik je na marljivost otočana u surovim životnim uvjetima i na čudesnu raskoš našeg podmorja. Povijest ronjenja i obrade koralja nas vodi sve do 13. stoljeća kada su Zlarinjani otkrili crveno bogatstvo oko svojeg otoka. U našem podmorju obitava pedesetak vrsta koralja, a najpoznatiji je ovaj zlarinski, crveni koralj iz roda Corallium rubrum. Koralji vole čisto more s jakim strujama koje nanose planktone kojima se hrane. Sve do 18. stoljeća je vladalo uvjerenje da je koralj cvijet koji se okameni kad se izvadi iz mora, tek tada su znanstvenici otkrili da se radi o životinji koja, u kolonijama, naseljava podvodne grebene i raste polako, ali sigurno, par milimetara godišnje. Spori rast je razlog zbog čega je uzgoj koralja neisplativ, ali i uzrok sve manjoj populaciji zbog čega je izlov sve manji, a vrijednost koralju raste. U Hrvatskoj, trenutno, dozvolu za lov koralja ima tek sedam osoba, a nitko nije Zlarinjanin. Pa ipak, Zlarin ima Muzej koralja i uskoro se ovdje planira otvoriti koraljarski centar - koralj je za Zlarin značio život i najvažniji je zlarinski izvozni proizvod oduvijek. Iako nema lovca na koralje, ima majstora obrade koralja pa se ovdje može svjedočiti vještini ručne obrade koralja i kupiti unikatan nakit. Muzej radi dvokratno pa se u ulicu Niz Bebana možete zaputiti nakon jutarnje kavice ili kad omara popusti ako ste unajmili apartman, sobu ili kuću za odmor na Zlarinu. Muzejski prostor je nevelik, ali kružno posložen kako bi vas vodičkinja provela kroz stoljeća koraljarske tradicije i kulture življenja na Zlarinu.
