A unique used book store. The owner has an encyclopedic understanding of local history and culture. Although a bit of a drive from my home the bookstore is on the way to New York for travelers coming from there. Be sure to call and make an appointment before your visit. (484) 646-9097

The museum is ok, worth a trip if you like the exhibit. The gardens and arboretum around the museum are gorgeous with beautiful hiking, biking and strolling extending for miles south west to Shillington

This Quaker meetinghouse was built by Daniel Boone’s father. The leader Ed Stokes is a pillar of the Oley valley community and sacred harp community. A very interesting peaceful place.

Hiking and parks
Most stunning views and best hike in Berks County. Drive and park at the Hamburg Reservoir, about a 40 minute drive from my house. The hike is a 9 mile loop with a 1200 ft vertical ascent. The Wyomissing Park System is a continuous park running along Wyomissing Creek from the Reading Museum to Shillington, about 4 miles. I like to take my kids for bike rides here and my wife goes jogging along the path.
