The Taylor Creek Visitor Center is a great spot for short, leisurely hikes in nature, or down to the lake. The center features some beautiful views, nature education and lake access via one of two short trails. I highly recommend checking out the The Stream Profile Chamber.

Great beach area for the whole family including dogs. Parking runs about $10; get there early on the weekends and spend the whole day!

Take a scenic gondola ride to the top of Heavenly Resort where you will find a number of summer activities including: Zip Lines, Climbing Walls, Ropes Courses, Gemstone Painting, Tubing and a Mountain Coaster. This is definitely one of your more pricey South Lake Tahoe adventures...I recommend visiting the Heavenly website for pricing and details before heading out.

Cave Rock Trail is a 0.8 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Glenbrook, Nevada that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
