Easily overlooked, unique, and unforthcoming attractions
While walking in downtown Salt Lake City even walking by, it is easy to miss an alleyway leading west to an often overlooked courtyard. Tucked back in between several buildings and a parking garage off of Main Street is the Book Wall Mural. Although there are many fine examples of street art throughout downtown Salt Lake the unforthcoming location makes this specimen arguably among the best.

The eccentric Allen Park a.k.a. "Hobbitville" spanning two city blocks along Emigration creek was recently opened in 2020 to visitors by the Salt Lake City Public Lands Department after being closed to visitors since the 1960's.

Head to Little Cottonwood Canyon for the quickest local hike to the Gloria Falls waterfall which is best seen during Spring for full flow, during summer to escape the valley heat, and during Autumn when colors start to change.

Any traveler guidebook will recommend a visit to see the Salt Lake while in the area. What is not readily known is that due to valley inversion conditions, the lake becomes a sheet of glass during sunset and sunrise during the winter months on clear days due to lack of moving air. Best of all, a visit to Antelope Island during this time involves no bugs, less smell, and the chance of Bison.
