Great for families! There's a wonderful park there and they have cool activities that you can look into ahead of your arrival (such as the penguin walk) to ensure you're there to catch them.
In the winter check-out Zoo Lights. Its an evening event that's great for all ages. Even a great date activity.

Studio Bell is gorgeous inside and out. Take a walk through East Village and checkout the cool building. While you’re there checkout the new Central Library as well.

Gorgeous new Central Library, located in Calgary 📚
Central Library is located at 800 3 Street SE, directly east of City Hall.
Public bike racks are located on all sides of the building, and bus routes stop on 3 Street SE and on 9 Avenue SE. The closest CTrain stop is City Hall, on both the Red and Blue lines.
There is parking in the City Hall parkade, paid parking lots on the east side of the Library, and paid street parking in the East Village.
The library is beautiful, functional and fun. Making it a great place to check-out while in Calgary.
