Coming from Hamburg Airport
The closest S-bahn(metro) to our place is Altona station.
Every S-bahn starting from Hamburg Airport arrives at Altona station.
The line is called S1.

Going to Hamburg Airport
Take S-Bahn S1 to in the direction to Hamburg Airport.
***Stay at one of the first 3 wagons*** because the Bahn splits right before the airport, the last 3 goes somewhere else.
The airport is the last stop.
If you took the wrong wagon, get out at the next stop, take S1 in direction to Wedel, get out at Ohlsdorf, look for the next Bahn going to the airport.

Saving money with after 9 am day pass
A great way to save money if you don't mind avoiding the morning rush hour. Get the Hamburg public transport 9 am Day Ticket is cheaper than the normal Day Ticket.
9 am Day Ticket: 6.40 Euros
Day Ticket: 7.66 Euros
Group Day Ticket: 12.03 Euros. Up to 5 people.

Getting to the city
Public transportation: operated by HVV. They cover Bahn(metro), buses, and ferries.
Electronic scooters: many companies have their scooters scattered in the city. Fun and convenient. Note not to park at no parking zones(says in the app usually).
City Bike: Decent condition bikes. Registration required. Available at Altona station ground floor in front of Rossmann.
Car hire by minutes: DirveNow or Car2go. 4 parking spaces next to the Airbnb. Need to register first. Parking is scarce and costly in the city.

Hamburg Ferries
Take ferry 62 between Dockland and Landungsbrücken and enjoy the view of beautiful Hamburg from the river. In summer, food and drinks are served on board. Weekday afternoon is the best time to do this activity. Weekends tend to be crowded.
