Today, the infamous prison is open to the public. Take a tour of one of the country’s oldest prisons and experience what life was like behind bars. A guide will take you through the prison and past Prison Guards will tell you their stories, with tours lasting around 90 minutes. Cameras are allowed, so be sure to come prepared.

All islands are accessible by boat and are popular places for camping. There are also walking trails, historic sites and some magnificent flora and fauna.
*Local Tip: Drive 20 minutes east on the 401 highway to visit the small town of Gananoque. This town has a stunning view of the 1000 Islands, along with gorgeous boat tours of the islands, notable cottages, Millionaires Club Row, and Boldt Castle. Boat Tours range from 1 hour - 3 hours (3 hour stops at Boldt Castle on American soil so bring your passport with you if you are not an American citizen).
