The murals within show some fabulous scenes of Scottish history, and the portraits on display are of immense historical value- everything from Holbein to Titian has found a place in these hallowed halls. There are frequent new exhibitions too- showing of the best of growing talent!

The hill itself has amazing views over the city and is home to the Collective contemporary art gallery and the unfinished National Monument. A great short uphill walk to escape the busy city.
