Local Restaurants
There are many eateries within just a few minutes of the B & B ranging from high on the funky list to very fine dining. This list is sort of by distance from the B & B. We have also included the direction. These are some of our favorites and favorites all for different reasons. Opinions expressed are ours and some of our guests.
Please note that Edison is actually in Bow, it's a Post Office thing and doesn't make sense to us either
The old Edison has some of the best fried oysters around. They have beer and a full bar along with some house infused spirits. There are two shuffleboard tables, an outdoor patio, and live music (almost) every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

If you are looking for a bottle of wine and don't want to drive into town this is the closest place to go and they have a good selection too. You can buy a glass before you buy the bottle most of the time. I'd call Slough Food more of a deli than a restaurant. It's a great place to pick up picnic food or food to bring back to the B & B and eat in the garden or on the deck.

Mariposa offers good Mexican food. Don't go here expecting chain restaurant melted cheese and beans with red sauce Mexican food. Their food is fresh and unique. I'm not exactly how to describe it but Taco Bell it's not. Again, very fresh, no canned sauce here.

14003 Gilmore AveMariposa offers good Mexican food. Don't go here expecting chain restaurant melted cheese and beans with red sauce Mexican food. Their food is fresh and unique. I'm not exactly how to describe it but Taco Bell it's not. Again, very fresh, no canned sauce here.

The longhorn Saloon is more of a tavern than restaurant. It's a 21 and over kind of place. The food is more tavernish than restaurantish. (if those are words) They have an outdoor patio like everyplace in Edison.

This is what we have for "fine dining" in the greater Bow Metropolitan Area. The views can't be beat for inside dining with white tablecloths. This is the most expensive restaurant close by.

Farmers Markets - Farm Stores
Within just a few minutes of Carriage Hill Farm there are numerous Farm Stores and Farmers Markets. Some farms have farm stands that sell their produce on an honor system.
As the name suggests Samish Bay Cheese makes cheese. They also raise beef and pork that they sell in their farm store. The farm store offers sandwiches, macaroni and cheese (of course) and they have a few beers on tap along with wine for sale. They also fill growlers for a trip back to our B and B for late night consumption.

Golden Glen Creamery produces all natural cheese and butter with the help of their small, healthy herd of Holstein, Guernsey and Jersey cows. Call First on (360)766-6455 for product availability.

Gothberg Farms produces goat cheese with goat's milk from their heard of LaMancha goats that are milked twice a day . They have an honor box at their farm so bring an assortment of cash or write them a check. From their website "The milk comes out of the goats and goes into the cheese vat with no fancy processes in between."

Bow Hill Blueberries has about 5 acres under cultivation. Most of the product in their store is produced from blueberries grown on their farm. They do buy some blueberries to produce their products but only heirloom varieties from certified organic farms. They produce juice, pickled blueberries(delicious), jams and jellies and package then right on property. Their blueberries are used in Lopez Island Creamery Bow Hill Blueberry flavor ice cream.

They do buy some blueberries to produce their products but only heirloom varieties from certified organic farms. They produce juice, pickled blueberries(delicious), jams and jellies and package then right on property. Their blueberries are used in Lopez Island Creamery Bow Hill Blueberry flavor ice cream.

Seafood Markets
We have a couple close by local shellfish farms that sell what they raise and harvest. Both are well worth the visit if you enjoy fresh oysters.
PLEASE CONTACT BLAU PRIOR TO VISITING THEY ARE IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING THEIR RETAIL SALES TO ALLEN WEST AND CHUCKANUT RD---- Blau Oyster Company is an Oyster Farm that also has a picnic area with a great bay view. They sell oysters and not much more so bring your favorite snacks and beverages. They will shuck your oysters for you for a small fee and they let you BBQ them in their picnic area on the bay shore. They will also pack oysters in ice to go. The picnic area is not very well known and when ever we have visited we were the only ones there.
