Some fun things to check out while you're here!
This is a great state park. There are day/overnight use fees, depending on how long your stay is, but day use is only $5 per vehicle. There's camping, a boat launch, a swimming beach, and moderate hiking trails. This is also the start/end point of the annual "Thunder on the Snake" jet boat races, which are really fun!

A multi-day spring fling event on the Lewis-Clark State college campus. It includes a car show, local music, and art and craft fair on the green, all while celebrating the blooming of the pink and pink dogwood trees. April.

Kiwi Air is a long-term Valley favorite! Their cheery red helicopter is easily identifiable, heading up an down the canyon. They are really the only other way to tour up into Hell's Canyon, since it's basically a roadless area. They seem to be easy to work with and a fun experience!

The Nez Perce Tribe runs an excellent little museum out here, above the Spalding Mission site, which is now a beautiful wild-ish park area. It's a really great spot for picnics and Clearwater River views. Great for local history with a Native American focus, and the workers are usually extremely helpful and willing to chat when they have time

Nez Perce National Historical Park Visitor Center
39063 US-95The Nez Perce Tribe runs an excellent little museum out here, above the Spalding Mission site, which is now a beautiful wild-ish park area. It's a really great spot for picnics and Clearwater River views. Great for local history with a Native American focus, and the workers are usually extremely helpful and willing to chat when they have time
We have several snippets of the Audubon Birding Trail here! One of them leads specifically to a heron rookery, which is regular part of my spring. I like to visit a couple times to check on the young birds - it feels very Jurassic Park.
