Our top tips for visiting Adelaide.
Walk around Adelaide. It is a well set out city and not too big. A great place for sports fans, wine lovers, comedy and arts lovers, history buffs etc.
Adelaide has something for everyone.
Business is centred in the CBD where our apartment is located as well.
Considered to be perhaps the most beautiful cricket ground in the world. Also, a great setting for watching AFL, and for concerts. Fantastic atmosphere, the tour of the ground is well worth doing and we recommend doing it when a state cricket game is on.
For the adventure lovers, try the roof top climb. Bookings are needed for the ground tour and the roof top climb.

Considered to be one of the best Chinese restaurants in Adelaide.
It is not cheap but is well worth it for a special occasion.
If you take your apartment discount card in, ( Mon to Thurs only), you will receive a $20 discount.
You can book in here to do a short half hour tour of Haighs and see the chocolates being made. This is a popular tour and bookings are essential. Around Easter, Haighs is very busy, so we would not recommend visiting at this time of year, although the staff offer samples to people as they wait in line. Yummy.

The nearby Port area is interesting to visit too.
A lovely collection of art work set in a beautiful building make this a special spot to visit for art lovers.

This is a must visit if you like getting very fresh food from some amazingly dedicated stall owners in one of the largest fresh food markets in the southern hemisphere.
Highly recommend this market for foodies and some great restaurants all around the market area.

Highly recommend this market for foodies and some great restaurants all around the market area.
We live near the Barossa Valley and it is a lovely place to visit, whether you like wines or not. A lovely day trip from Adelaide and lots of lovely cafe's and restaurants to visit here. Great to see in Autumn as well.

One of the most interesting day tours from Adelaide or better yet, stay overnight, and make it 2 days.
The walk over to Granite Island only takes 10 to 15 minutes and there is a great cafe on the island for a lovely cup of coffee.
Walk around the island and see some amazing granite outcrops and some really average sculptures (Mary and Mark do not like these new additions).
Catch the Steamranger. Visit the Whale Centre. Goolwa, Middleton, Port Elliot and other lovely seaside towns are all nearby.

This is the only zoo in Australia that has panda's. So that is a great reason to visit. It is near the city centre, is rather lovely old world type zoo although most enclosures have been updated. You can catch the Popeye boat from Elder Park to the zoo.
