Our favourite restaurants
There is one really lovely restaurant - The Ethicurean - about 15 minutes drive from here, and a number of good country pubs offering a variety of cuisines. The airBnB system doesn't seem to know these pubs exist, so I can't add them to the system, but they include:
1) The New Inn, Blagdon (Park Batch, Blagdon BS40 7SB - about 8 minutes drive, on the other side of the Vally, and with a great garden with excellent views
2) Plume of Feathers, Leg Lane, Bristol BS40 7AH. Typical pub in a lovely little village with a stream. About 8 minutes drive.
3) The Pony & Trap, Moorledge Road, Newtown, Chew Magna, Bristol BS40 8TQ. About 20 minutes drive. Advance booking advisable as this has a high reputation.
This is a lovely restaurant in a converted greenhouse within an old walled garden (which supplies all the vegetables)Our , with simply magnificent views. All food is locally sourced. Go while it is still daylight to enjoy the view. Our favourite.
