Wonderful Cycle to the 12th Lock where barges are moored up outside. You can cycle from my place along the Royal Canal Way without going out onto a main road.

Biggest City Park in Europe. Zoo also in the park. Great for cycling or waling. Go to the interpretive centre and have a cake and a potter around the walled garden.

Walk or cycle west up along the banks of the Royal Canal to the 12th lock Hotel & Restaurant and see the barges moored up outside or go on further still through the "Deep Sinking" and get a train home from Castleknock, Clonsilla, Leixlip or even Maynooth.
