Plan for dinner here as the perfect way to end a long day at the beach and exploring the redwoods...but bring some nice clothes to change into ;-)

If you love bagels and all the toppings possible, you will want to stop here for a satisfying lunch. When dining on the Eureka waterfront, this place does a good job of providing something for everyone with their diverse Italian/Japanese menu. However, for a real party treat, book a table in their Teppanyaki room! You will laugh all through dinner.

I’m not just saying this because I am a farmer! :-) Even if you don’t need groceries, going to the Arcata farmers market is an “event” not to miss. Live music, delicious hot food booths, house and garden plants, fresh flowers, great vibes and SO MANY SMILES, is reason enough to check it out. Plus, our market is one of the only in the state that is 100% locally (Humboldt) produced agricultural products.

We fought hard to preserve this majestic forest and stand of old growth redwoods. Go enjoy this easy hike and bask in the awe of these giants. Great bike trail too!

The town of Blue Lake is quaint and adorned with some nice old architecture, but the real attraction is that it is located along the beautiful Mad River. Find a spot to enjoy a picnic, go for a run along the levy, or visit the fish hatchery. Easy access at the Mad River bridge.

Take the kids to the interpretive center to learn more about life and water cycles and enjoy a walk on the many trails that wind throughout the marsh. I promise it doesn't smell bad! Great for running and bikes.

Take the kids to the interpretive center to learn more about life and water cycles and enjoy a walk on the many trails that wind throughout the marsh. I promise it doesn't smell bad! Great for running and bikes.
Enjoy a lengthy but scenic trip up this road and you will end up on top of the world. Breathtaking 360 degree views that gaze down over old growth forests, the Redwood Creek watershed, and beyond. Make the trip in spring to catch the purple lip in fields blooming along the hillsides. Stop to lay in the intoxicating Lupine field and you won’t be able to stop taking pictures. A favorite place for family portraits!
Continue on past the lupine for some fun hikes either to the fire tower or explore the preserved historic ranch buildings.
