Food Scene
The Port Elliot Bakery building was built for the Bebee family in the 1860s. The family baked on this site for over 50 years with a wonderful reputation.
The site has been a bakery for over a hundred years with the original wood fired oven still in place.
There were several different owners between 1917 and 1977. After 1977 the bakery was utilized as an outlet by the Lovell's family. In the early hours of the morning people have spoken of an honesty system whereby they could leave money in a box and take their bread.
The bakery closed in the mid 1980's and re - opened in 1989 as Port Elliot Bakery which continues to be managed and operated by the the same family today.
Port Elliot Bakery as it is now, was established in 1989 by the Horrocks and Gorman family. The original owners are still operating and will be serving you for many years to come.
It has become a true family affair with approximately 15 family members involved in the business.
Our success is due to using fresh produce daily, baked exclusively on these premises in Port Elliot. We have great friendly staff and loyal customers. So what are you waiting for why not come in and try our delicious treats, we look forward to serving you.

The Flying Fish is situated on the idyllic beachfront at Horseshoe Bay, Port Elliot. The kiosk and restaurant are named after an old two-masted schooner which was wrecked in the bay in 1860 – one of a number of ships to meet this fate while Horseshoe Bay operated as a seaport in that period.
