The Aladzha Monastery was created approx. 12th-13th century, but was abandoned in the late XV and early XVI centuries. [1]
For the first time the name of the monastery is mentioned in the book of Russian writer Viktor Tepliyakov Letters from Bulgaria (1832).
The first systematic studies were carried out at the end of the 19th century by the Hermenegild and Karel Shkorpil brothers.
In 1912 it was declared a folk old age, and in 1957 it was a monument of culture of national importance
