In the small village of Paal, which has a beautiful tidal port and runs against the dilapidated land of Saefthinge, you can eat well in three different places. You can go to restaurant Kint & Co (really great food), Paviljoen 't Schor (overlooking the Verdronken Land van Saefthinge and the tidal port) and bar restaurant In 't Zicht der Schelde(simple but nice kitchen).

Fortress city Hulst is a fully-fledged medieval fortified city with beautiful medieval buildings like the Basilica, a number of refugiums and the beautiful town hall. You can make a wonderful walk around the city walls (around +/- 5 km) with views of the town and the surrounding area. You can enjoy many terraces on the Market and shopping and eating and drinking in Hulst. Just outside Hulst you can choose from five supermarkets for daily groceries.

You can walk in nature park of Het Verdonken Land van Saefthinge. It's a nature park that is flooded twice a day by the tide. There is a short route about the plankier. There you can walk without a guide. If you really want to enjoy the park , a guide is required. Without guide you are so lost and you have a big problem when the water rises. For information, visit the Saefthinge Discovery Center Visitor Center. There is a small museum with a lot of experience for children. At the end of your trip in the bark and swamp you will have to eat and drink at Café Het Verdronken land in Emmadorp.
