This is a locals secret spot and great for children. Sandy Park is one of the largest remaining maritime deciduous forests in North Carolina. The park includes a half-mile boardwalk and nature trail loop, two waterfront gazebos, canoe/kayak access and hundreds of Turtles. Be sure to bring some bread to feed the turtles.
