A lovely cathedral city with a lot of historic interest. There are many ancient buildings but also a shopping centre with a good range of stores. the city has many restaurants and cafes to sit and rest.

A National Trust property that belonged to the Banks family whose land extended to Corfe Castle. Lady Banks defended the castle against Oliver Cromwell. The property has a number of open rooms and a very good art collection. The grounds are extensive with various gardens within the estate. There is a good cafe and gift shop.

Just minutes from my doorstep is the varied New Forest with open heathland, woodland and free grazing horses, donkeys and cattle. There are many places of interest from the market town of Lymington to the quaint Burley with its themed shops, tearooms and bicycle hire.

There are many lovely villages like Kimmeridge and Lulworth and the abandoned Tyneham which has been unused as a village since WW2. The caost is stunning with Durdle Door and Old Harry Rocks being two notable features. The sea is known for its crystal clarity and is well used by kayakers and paddle boarders.

A lovely little museum full of art and curios collected by Sir Merton and his wife in the 1800s during their travels. There are often additional art exhibitions within the museum and there is a shop and cafe for refreshments.
