Observatory in downtown. It's fun for any age and you get some really good star gazing because of the high elevation and the dark Flagstaff Nights.

A ski area just outside of town. In the summer you can see all the way to the Grand Canyon from the parking lot.

There is an easement here for hiking trails all over Mount Elden. You can even get on trails here and not touch pavement until you are at the Grand Canyon...it's about 70 miles though so that's a long day :)

There are hiking trails that lead out of the back parking lot and cover all over Mount Elden. The Forces of Nature trail has markers and shows off some of the different geological happenings of the mountain as well as an old homestead.
