Breweries
Our local brewery has great craft beer in a stunningly restored Carnation milk factory. It's great for families of all ages, since there is plenty of space to roam with games including bags, pool, and shuffleboard. The brewery also has food, and is only 15 minutes from Yuba.

Outdoor Areas
20 minutes from Yuba, this 8,500 acre nature preserve has miles of hiking, biking, and snowmobiling trails. The Kickapoo River is also a great paddling experience (let us know if you need a canoe to borrow - we have one!). Our best recommended hike is to Blackhawk Rock. See maps of the Kickapoo Valley Reserve for the best route. The visitor center is also a helpful resource.

Better known as Rockbridge Park, this is a fantastic small park. The West Fork of the Pine River flows through a rock cliff, with an enchanting hiking trail running along the clifftop, and then up and down stairs at either end. Don't miss the tunnel that was blasted through the cliff. There's also a small playground.

Like nothing you've ever experienced on a bicycle, this is a place to make memories. America's first rail to trail project, the Elroy Sparta bike trail goes through 3 very long tunnels. We have bicycles you can borrow. Your smartphone flashlights will come in handy. A nice ride is between the villages of Kendall and Wilton (9 miles each way). Kendall has a visitor center, and there is a tunnel in between. A great dive bar in Kendall is the HIdden Inn Bar & Grill.

This is a very unique small town, in that it's very influenced by Waldorf education. Pleasant Ridge and Youth Initiative private schools are both located here. As a result, there is a strong current of progressive-ism and back-to-the-land thinking. The Main Street is thriving, with cute shops and a nice music scene.

The birthplace of Frank Lloyd Wright, this is the center of retail in Richland County. The Main Street is full of attractive architecture, and there are many historic buildings closeby. These include the Municipal Auditorium and AD German Warehouse (designed by Wright). While the nightlife is lacking, there are a handful of attractions in our county seat making it worth a visit.

Grocery stores
This is your closest option, and is a respectable grocery store for a small town. They will have pretty much anything you need. While the organic options are somewhat limited, they still exist. Great beer and hardware store too.

This place will provide you with one of those "wow" moments. You'll be surprised that a town of 5,000 people can support an organic grocery store this size. Local vegetables, meat counter, deli, food bar, beer, and everything in between is available here.

When we want a high quality burger (grass fed) with tasty deep fried appetizers and craft beer, this is where we go. It's in an unassuming building in a village (Lime Ridge) almost as tiny as Yuba. The service is friendly.

Sightseeing
This is Frank Lloyd Wright's unique Mayan inspired warehouse, designed for AD German. The warehouse didn't last, but a local group is working to add a rooftop patio and museum to the historic space. They give tours on Sundays, and it's definitely worth a look, especially if you're an architecture buff.
