Hop on the Dartmouth ferry for $2.50 and go to the Canteen. A great little restaurant that actually takes reservations (they are hard to come by sometimes in this city!). And the ferry ride can be very pretty on a nice evening.

If you want to grab the ferry during the day check out Two If By Sea. Delicious locally roasted coffee and the most epic croissant you will ever have.

My favorite restaurant in the whole city. The service is fantastic, the menu is always changing with fresh ingredients. Brunch can get a little busy but dinner is usually pretty doable for a table of 2.

If you want to check out the Hyrdrostone area of Halifax stop by The Ostrich Club. Delicious seafood forward menu and nice vibes. They have a nice brunch and lunch menu as well.

Spring garden is a main hub for the busses. You can take one for almost everywhere in the city. I would recommend using google transit to find correct routes.
