Fried fish, grilled fish, chicken livers and gizzards (don't scrunch your face until you try it), local food at local people prices. When you buy a rum and coke you get a flask of rum and a bottle of coke. Lot of characters, some probably not savoury, go in company and stick to the main road, and probably best not to go up some of those stairways, as intriguing as they might seem. You want culture? Can't get much more anywhere else.

The usual awful singing but occasionally the crowd will give a standing ovation (it's standing room only, anyhow, out in the street with the occasional car squeezing through). First Street
First StreetIf you love karaoke, this is it. Sunday night. One of the few places I know where tourists and locals hang out comfortably. Can be a pick up spot if you want to pick up or be picked up. The usual awful singing but occasionally the crowd will give a standing ovation (it's standing room only, anyhow, out in the street with the occasional car squeezing through). Drinks at local people prices, fish and hamburgers and other stuff also available.
Sightseeing
Used to be called Little Bristol because the sailing ships started from here to Bristol, England with loads of sugar. Quiet, neglected, with old buildings, kind of left behind feeling, some good places to eat and drink

Parks & Nature
Not far away from Bathsheba, more Atlantic scenery, loonnnggg beaches to walk (take care with sunburn, carry water). Unfortunately, lots of plastic washing up from the ocean. Great all the same.

It's a theological college and it's also a power spot. Go there for a while and gradually you start to notice how calming the place is. Large garden pond with 1, 234,567 fish (counted them).

Good for basics, and some decent wine. Some of the best prices because the place is kept simple but clean. In a small plaza that offers barber, doctor, pharmacy, and etceteras. Opposite Il Tempio where you can recover with a drink or lunch.

Food Scene
Connie the Grill Master serves really great grilled fish. It is good! Go early or go late because there is always a line. The food is just normal Bajan food but the fish makes upo for every thing. The man used to be a chef at Sandy Lane (they say). Later at night the portions get bigger. Great fish. I haven't had better anywhere.
Mr Vic is a decent low end restaurant, fairly limited range and right on the road with the buses zipping past. And still, it's a nice place to eat with relaxing feel. Great bar and live music.
Kariba, just off the road. Up scale but small and quiet and very decent food.
