Monarch lake is a wonderful scenic hike good for many ability levels. You will hike about 4 miles around the lake, with minimal elevation change throughout. Get there early in the summer as it can be very busy! Open for snowshoeing in the winter.

Sightseeing
Visiting Grand Lake is worth it for the view. Probably the most picturesque town anywhere. There are several pull-offs that lead right up to the lake for photo ops with Rocky Mountain National Park rising in the background.
