This museum is like stepping back in time. Very fun visit for a down day in the mountains. It is a collection of the old mining homes and school house, bank etc for you to understand what life was like when the area was first settled by the miners.

Parks & Nature
The hiking and views are terrific right from the parking lot - see an old mining operation, take in the views of the waterfalls, go fishing or take a longer hike up to Wheeler Lake.

The town of Breckenridge is beautiful no matter the season. Always fun to walk the streets and do window shopping, wait in the endless line for your homemade crepe, and buy jerky from the outlet store in town. Don't forget to get your obligatory T Shirt that talks about skiing, hiking, the altitude, fishing or whatever strikes your fancy. The gondola is always a free ride no matter the season.

Essentials
Fairplay is a small town, but Prather's pretty much has any last minute supplies you may need for your home cooked meals and snacks while adventuring. If you want to do major grocery shopping and you are driving from Denver, I recommend stopping at the King Soopers or Safeway in Conifer before heading to Fairplay.

301 US Hwy 285Fairplay is a small town, but Prather's pretty much has any last minute supplies you may need for your home cooked meals and snacks while adventuring.
