The staff at Palmetto Distillery give a great history lesson about moonshining and a tour of the distillery. The tasting at the end is generous and we recommend walking around downtown Anderson or popping into a restaurant to soak up some of the 105 proof White Lightening. There are often Groupon's offering a deal for a tour and tasting.

Table Rock State Park is in northern Pickens County. The park includes Pinnacle Mountain, the tallest mountain totally within the state. I recommend hiking to the top of Table Rock Mountain for a fantastic view!

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant! So much so that we have to limit ourselves to one visit a week. Don't be fooled by its outside appearance -- the inside is clean, inviting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The queso is a must and ask to try the "cantaloupe."
