It's nearby, but honestly one of the best Indian restaurants in the Minneapolis metro. They have a wonderful lunch buffet and live music on the weekends.

Excellent coffee.
Open since 1965, the Black Forest is a German restaurant and bar on "Eat Street". Besides the waitress' no-nonsense attitude, one of my favorite things is the Avedon print with bullet hole.
