Amazing pizza, salads, desserts, beer - they have it all! Evening wait times are about an hour or more from 5-9, and they don't take reservations but you could go early, get a coaster, and then head out for some shopping or walking around.
They have a few live concerts throughout the summer, but usually sell out. Craigslist is a good place for last minute tickets.

They have a great Mexican fusion restaurant (weekend brunch) and a good take-out menu but the real allure here is the second run theater where you can get food and beer and enjoy it while watching a movie or show. Concerts on occasion too. Family films on holidays and weekends during the day and an eclectic mix in the evenings, usually two showings a night. Wild mushroom pizza is amazing!

A fun family park with baseball diamonds, large fields, playgrounds, and access to other local parks and trails. A good place for a picnic or a bike ride. Walk up the big hill for a bit of nature in the city - watch out for moose up there!

Moose and bears are around so be aware all year long but not a place where incidents have been common.
A popular trail that can be taken up to the top of the ridge line or horizontally along the inlet. Bears are common in this area but so are other people (especially on weekends) so just be cautious and study up on bear safety. Views are amazing from almost everywhere and there are picnic areas at the parking lots.

Views are amazing from almost everywhere and there are picnic areas at the parking lots.

An art museum much more expansive than you would expect for such a small town. Great rotating exhibits and a fantastic Alaska history section.
