Why go to subway when you could go here. Menu changes all the time. Nice and simple and good. Pick up sandwiches from here and take them to the Brewery (Brewery doesn't mind. They don't have food service) to sit outside and try all the local brews. They have juice for kids.

Get very good curry and naan right next door to us. The mango chicken is very pleasing, and the samosas are always fresh.

Nice walk from our place to the river.
Start behind the Badlands Community Hall and you can walk down the treed river path into pretty groves and back up. Nice view of the river valley.

Family-friendly saloon with awesome history and wild-west decor. If there's live music it's wonderfully convivial. It's really a destination. Food improves all the time, but prepare to settle-in for slow and sassy service.

A very nice patio to sip great beverages - even wine, or kombucha on tap. Great shop! Lots of good and posh things to look at.

A few old houses and a church nicely set up, and free to walk around in. Kids find it pretty interesting. Rather anthropological, I'd say.

Alberta 838(opens May 9) The shortest ferry ride ever! So charming.
The drive out to East Coulee is pretty awesome! Some of the hills look like volcanoes or pyramids. Seeing the stripes in the rock shows you the history of the varied climates that once existed in Alberta.

Erosion at its best! You can climb around here. Neat little caves and caverns. Really lean into the seams of the hills.
