A lot of restaurants, free pools/lagoon, bus and train accessible, markets on the weekends. Close to GOMA, Museum, QPAC and State Library. Can get a ferry or city cat from there over to the CBD.

Dog friendly Nudgee Beach. Approx 7 minute drive up Nudgee Rd. On the shores of Moreton bay so don't expect white sandy beaches (think mangroves and mudflats) but is still a great place to let the dogs run when the tide is out.

Trains from Northgate are frequent and efficient
Northgate station is approx 400m easy walk from Finlay Cottage. Trains come through on multiple lines to various destinations so ensure you check the screens on the platform for your destination. Some trains are express, depending on the times of day.
FYI Toombul Shopping Centre is currently closed to due flooding in 2022.
