Porthleven is a beautiful old fishing village very popular with tourists and locals alike. The village boasts coastal paths for walking, harbour, shops and several traditional Cornish pubs. Water sport hire is also on offer here. One of our favourite places!

If you want to learn about the mining history of Camborne and Redruth there is a small museum here for you to tour. Heartlands was once part of England's last working tin mine, South Crofty (situated opposite). The Red River Cafe also operates here which is highly recommended.

Dudnance LaneIf you want to learn about the mining history of Camborne and Redruth there is a small museum here for you to tour. Heartlands was once part of England's last working tin mine, South Crofty (situated opposite). The Red River Cafe also operates here which is highly recommended.

King Edward Mine is a 15 minute walk from our hut or a 2 minute drive. Guided tours are available of the old mining works. Why not pop in for coffee and cake at The Croust Hut which is situated opposite!

Another excellent place to have a walk. You can drive to a car park situated within Carnkie (1 mile away). Views from the top are fantastic over the North Coast with clear views of St Ives Bay and St Agnes Beacon.
Carn Brea Castle is situated here, which has an excellent reputation as a local restaurant.

Another excellent place to have a walk. You can drive to a car park situated within Carnkie (1 mile away). Views from the top are fantastic over the North Coast with clear views of St Ives Bay and St Agnes Beacon.

Bike Chain Bissoe Bike Hire
There are excellent cycle paths that lead from the hire shop. You can ride to th picturesque village of Devoran in one direction or go to Portreath in the other! We have ridden from here on several occasions and enjoy stopping at pubs / cafe's present on either route.
Situated only a few miles away from the hut. Experience kayaking, sailing and SUP on the reservoir. There is also a 5 mile circular walk and a cafe. The Golden Lion pub is very close by!

Another large and excellent beach on the North Coast with the view of Godrevy Lighthouse being a highlight. There is a cafe and large car park providing access to the beach.

Cornwall's premier cycling path! We have cycled from Wadebridge to Padstow and back many times. The cycle path is entirely flat with beautiful views! There are two cycle hire shops in the immediate area. Fish and Chips at Rick Stein's in Padstow is always a nice half way treat!

Highly recommended cafe only a 15 minute walk from the hut. The Cornish breakfast is fantastic. We often stop here for coffee and cake on our walks. Currently closes at 1500.
