Sightseeing
Dragør is an old fishing town that is currently being considered to become part of the unesco heritage list - it’s really cosy to walk around on the cobblestone floor and look at the old yellow buildings 😊

Tivoli is a quite nice place to go, albeit quite touristy - both with local Danish tourists and visitors.
The garden is an amusement park but also just a nice place for a stroll and offers some nice quick views into Danish culture. It’s a little pricy, but a place most Danes also go themselves from time to time 😊

Neighbourhoods
A Freetown full of hippies and alternative people. The citizens here don’t pay municipality taxes as they have organised their own city, help each other build their own houses and are relatively self sufficient. It’s a very interesting piece of Danish culture, and a place we visit ourselves every now and then :)

One of the more touristy places, Kongens Nytorv is the iconic place with the old coloured buildings next to the small canal and one of Copenhagens trademarks. It’s a nice place to sit for a beer/drink, but most locals avoid the dining scene there as it’s quite pricy and not the best quality. Definitely a must-see in Copenhagen though 😊

If you’d like a little nature time, head to Kalvebod Fælled for a walk or a biking tour. It’s an open area with fields and a natural park that hosts both some cows and horses, but also wildlife thrives here as well.
I frequently bike to Copenhagen for work, and I always take the route through Kalvebod Faelled as it’s the most scenic and calming route to the city - but also just a nice place for a walk.

The Baltic Sea lies 400 meters from the house, and we go for walks here daily ourselves with our dog. The seaside offers beautiful views and a nice little swimming spot if you take the walk out from the shore on the little wooden bridge - something we enjoy doing a lot ourselves during summertime.

Getting to Copenhagen city centre
The fastest way to get to the city centre is to take bus 33 from Faelledvej to the metro station called Vestamager, then the metro from there to Kongens Nytorv or Nørreport, depending on where you want to go. This should take approximately 50-55 minutes.

If you’d like to see Copenhagen from the seaside, the Netto-boats are a good option. Find them at Kongens Nytorv :)

Buying tickets for public transportation
The easiest way to get around with public transportation is to buy a “Rejsekort” (travel card) - it’s a card you load with money and then you can check in and out of all public transportation places. You can buy the card in the airport, at Nørreport station or the central station in Copenhagen.
