Picturesque Cornish fishing village
A beautiful fishing village with a harbour and shops to walk around. Parking is great, just park on the very large car park just before you get to Mevagissey village. It is only a 5 minute walk from the car park. It has plenty of places to eat and drink. You can take a boat ride, visit the Aquarium, paddle on the very small beach there.

You can catch the car ferry over the River and head off to Looe ( my favourite place ), which is 12 miles from the car ferry.
Beaches
A beautiful beach, which is privately owned by Pentewan Sands, although the public can use it. Please note: no dogs are allowed on this beach. There are toilets and refreshments available at the holiday park. Its great for swimming and surfing. There is no life guard on this beach.

Par is a safe, sandy beach. Backed by sand dunes and stretches half a mile. Par is great for swimming and popular with families. There is ample parking and has easy access. Par is dog friendly. There is a shop, cafe, pub and toilets.

Porthluney Cove is a privately owned, secluded family beach with a large expanse of golden sand that's popular with the locals. South facing, in front of Caerhays Castle and Gardens, the beach enjoys a striking backdrop. There's plenty of room for beach games and exploring the rocks on the west side at low tide. The beach is excellent for swimming . The beach is directly in front of the daily charge car park and seasonal cafe, picnic area and basic toilet facilities are provided. Dog friendly all year.

You can prebook tickets to go here, its also dog friendly. You can get lost in all the amazing beautiful areas within The Lost Gardens of Heligan. There is enough here to keep all the family busy for a good few hours. With activities along the way.

The whole family will be sure to enjoy the day here.
Caerhays Castle and Gardens is located in a sheltered valley overlooking Porthluney Cove on the south Cornish coast halfway between Truro and St. Austell. The gardens and castle are usually open to the public from mid Feburary to mid June.
