Any trip to this region must include a visit to La Cite, the famous walled old town of Carcassonne. Spectacular views from the AutoRoute as you drive past. There are guided tours around La Cite if you want them or just stroll through the iconic cobbled streets full of Cathar history. Cathedral Visits are available. Any trip to this region must include a visit to La Cite, the famous walled old town of Carcassonne. Spectacular views from the AutoRoute as you drive past. There are guided tours around La Cite if you want them or just stroll through the iconic cobbled streets full of Cathar history. Cathedral Visits are available. La Cite has wonderful views over Carcassonne and the River Aude.
Make it a day trip and visit the spectacular ancient castle ruins which perch on the edge of a rocky outcrop with fantastic views across the valley below and all the way to the Mediterranean Sea and Perpignan in the distance.

Great market once a week. Nice square with Café de la Poste for great coffee and convivial atmosphere. Also has Intermarche supermarket. Only 5 minute drive from Homps.

There are 2 lovely way-marked walks from here, one short and one longer. Park free in the Church Car Park and the red and blue walks are marked from here.
