They have a great visitors center with interactive exhibits (interesting for kids and adults as well) and activities for kids, like scavenger hunts on their nature trail, as well as restrooms, water fountains and pet watering bowl. On the trail itself, there are nature play areas for kids. AND, it’s right on the extensive Raleigh Greenway system (SEE MAP), so you can park there and head off on one of the trails for as long as you like. AND, there is a Citrix bike rental station there if you want to ride bikes on the greenway. We love it!

Walnut Creek Wetland Center
950 Peterson St950 Peterson St, Raleigh, NC 27610 - only 2 min away - such a great place to experience the outdoors, and so close! They have a great visitors center with interactive exhibits (interesting for kids and adults as well) and activities for kids, like scavenger hunts on their nature trail, as well as restrooms, water fountains and pet watering bowl. It’s a beautiful property with an 1855 Greek Revival house, detached kitchen, cotton gin house, livestock barn, carriage house, pecan grove and herb garden. There is a Farm History Center, with an interactive “Farmer’s Corner” play area for kids, and picnic areas.
