Best bakery in existence. Open W-SAT 10-3. Go early for best selection. Sweets and savories. Our faves include ham and cheese savories (kids), veggie focaccia sandwich (Lacy), jalapeño cheddar bun (Shelby). Soups are fantastic and can not go wrong with and sweet.

Fritz creek general store. This is a great reason to take a drive out east end road. EXCELLENT kitchen here to pick up food mixed in with a old school post office, general store, beer and wine store and a gas station. Personal favorite is the brisket sandwich. Not much for eating area but we suggest driving a few more miles out to Evaline recreation trails, eating your goods and taking a beautiful stroll. This is a pro tip.

Great great GREAT hike to a glacier lake. Almost anyone can do this hike, call a local water taxi for info on getting there and what to expect (makos or Ashore are great companies for a water taxi).

Don’t miss these!
The Saturday or Wednesday Farmers market, any chance to see live music, first Friday gallery viewings, Bear Creek Winery, Sweetgale Meadworks and Cider House, any of our amazing food trucks (personal fave and best use of local food is ‘Dandelion’ in the parking lot of the Washboard. Do the Grewink glacier lake hike if your able. Walk the spit, get Carmen’s gelato or a slice at Finn’s pizza. Our movie theater rocks, as well as Pier One Theater on the Spit.

Karen Hornaday Park, The Public Library (amazing kids room), SPARC recreation has kids play times- really easy and fun indoor activity, the beach, Islands and Oceans Visitor Center, Wynn Nature Center, Flagship Creamery boardwalk on spit (swings under boardwalk AND ice cream….enough said).
