A lesser known waterfall system in the UP and a fun hike. Hungarian Falls
A lesser known waterfall system in the UP and a fun hike. This is one of my favorites for its remoteness and for the fact it's a bit more technical of a hike that can be challenging, but very rewarding. The hike leads you down into a cove for excellent views up-close of the middle falls and stunning views from atop the lower falls. Finding the trails can be tricky. I have only ever been here in the winter when the main trail was closed off. There's a parking area right near the ski lodge that requires almost no walking to view the falls from a top. This would be a fun, lesser known waterfall with minimal hiking anytime of year.

The entire Keweenaw area is breathtaking and just a drive to the Keweenaw Peninsula is an adventure in itself, but my personal favorite recommendation is for those looking for adventure. The mountain biking trails in Copper Harbor are world class and there's something for every skill level from beginners looking for a leisurely ride to experts looking for a challenge... and those like myself who are somewhere in between. There are numerous trails to choose from and you can buy a map of the trail system from Keweenaw Adventure Company. In addition, there is a highly recommended bike shuttle to shuttle you to the top of Brockway Mountain for the trails. I recommend this if you want to save your legs.

The hike starts in the back yard and takes you down the old railroad grade and to the gravel road going to the lake. I include a guided hike to Four Mile as part of your stay.

Connie's has the best coffee in the area and can make a mean latte as well as other specialty coffee drinks. I recommend stopping in here on your way out in the morning on whatever UP adventure you decide to take on. Grab your coffee, a breakfast sandwich or lunch.
