There are lots of things to do in Colchester from visiting Colchester Leisure World with its Aqua Springs Spa facilities to Colchester Zoo. In the town centre there are lots of restaurants and cafes and there is a food market where they also often sell fresh fish.

You can get the foot ferry to Brightlingsea from Cudmore Grove or you can drive there if you fancy a day out. It's nice for a wander around and has good fish and chip shops.

Broman's LaneThis is a lovely area to visit. You can park there for a fee and there are also toilets near the car park. It has a good children's play area and you can walk for miles. You can get the foot ferry from here to Brightlingsea but I recommend you check the times as sometimes there is only one an hour. Lovely place to visit and is a short drive from the site.
The Tiptree jam factory is a nice place to visit, there is also a shop there which sells a huge variety of Tiptree jams. There is also a restaurant there. It's a fair drive from the site and if you are passing it's worth stopping for jam.
