An artist town with small boutique galleries, a small beach and great restaurants. We suggest going here for more of a sightseeing trip rather than a day at the beach. Great beaches can be found up and down the coast from this location. In summer the traffic can be terrible on Laguna Canyon Road, so head out early or late in the afternoon. Despite the traffic it is a really cute little town.

Despite the traffic it is a really cute little town.

Crystal Cove is unique because it is not the flat walk out beach that is familiar to Southern California. It also has tidepools that can be observed a lower tides. The terrain getting to the beach is a bit of a walk but so worth it.

If you can get tickets to see a concert at the Hollywood Bowl it is worth the drive and effort to get there. Park off-site and walk in if you can. The picnic style lunches and dinners are great too.
