You guessed it, our cabin is named after this notorious mine. Tours of the mine are seasonal during spring and summer only. These tours will take you through one of the most productive silver mines of the era.

Make sure to book your outdoor adventures in advance, whether you decide to enjoy a guided tour, shoe-shoeing, snowmobiling, biking, hiking, UTV or ATV rides, horseback riding, fishing, boating or renting equipment.

Doesn't matter what season you visit Leadville or surrounding areas, make sure you pack layers as the nights and mornings are cooler in the mountains. We also recommend sturdy footwear such as: sneakers, hiking boots, and winter boots.

High Altitude
It is important to understand and anticipate the potential of altitude sickness. It is estimated that nearly half the visitors from lower elevations may experience some form of altitude illness. Symptoms include fatigue, decreased appetite, shortness of breath with minimal exertion, nausea, headache, and sleep disturbances. These symptoms are often worse the second day at altitude but resolve soon after. Aspirin or ibuprofen often provide relief. Tips: Drink lots of water, rest and be careful while drinking alcohol as it has different effects at high altitudes .
